Big Tomato Plants - Small Pot
As just a test using all natural methods and plant nutrients, I decided to plant some tomatoes in nursery pots. This was a small withered tomato that I got at Lowes at the end of the season in the fall. It is about 6 weeks old and has had absolutely no fertilizer or other chemicals used! Though it’s hard to see in the photo, it is loaded with green tomatoes and blossoms. It is also growing in January. I had to stake it up on the left to show the height since it was running all over the groung. See my blog on a simple greenhouse heater should you want to extend your growing seasons in colder climates. Finally, I have a much larger tomato (planted at the same time) growing in a larger (15 gal) nursery pot. I have not stake it yet and it is sprawling all over the ground - and loaded with tomatoes!
